Allow specifing project roles for custom email

*This issue has moved*

This issue has been moved permanently to Adaptavist's Product Support JIRA instance.

All existing users of this instance should have the same username on our Product Support instance. However, you will very likely need to click on the

To work around the problem that you cannot have notification schemes per issue type, I would like to use the functionality of the script runner plugin to send a custom email. To make it possible, I would need to be able to specify a certain project role to send the mail to (Currently only fixed email addresses or issue fields are possible).

I am using version 1.7.5 (but it seems this version is not selectable here in JIRA)

Added in 1.7.6, you can use roleevelopers, also group:SomeGroup.

The example I have now is that a 'product manager' (is a project role) gets a notification email on each issue update. I got a question now that he only wants updates from 'bug' and 'improvement' issue types, not 'task' issue types (It goes a little futher, that he does want updates to tasks assigned to him ).

Right now, he gets too much notifications and filters what he does not want with an Outlook rule

(Added to 1.7.6 anyway).

Yes... mostly

That would mean changing the workflow to fire the issue-specific events and using a condition that checked the issue type.

If all the issue types shared the same workflow you'd want to modify the code so that the event fired is "${}_Create_Event" for example, otherwise you'd need different events per issue type.

Do you have a concrete example... eg for a new bug mail the developers role, but for a new support issue mail the support engineers, something like that?

Also an interesting idea. Is that functionality already available in the plugin?
